ABOUT

Max Jourdan’s creative process draws inspiration from the acting techniques of Jacques Lecoq and focuses on the synergy between physical expression and improvisation.

His practice involves close collaboration with models and actors, who are encouraged to stage themselves while interacting with a variety of props and mundane objects.

By capturing the best fleeting moments of these spontaneous performances on camera, Max produces images that invite viewers to engage with the unexpected and often subversive narratives emerging from this process of playful interplay and free association.

Driven by a sense of curiosity and mischief, Max seeks to tap into the subconscious and reveal hidden emotional facets of ourselves that lie beneath the ordered hierarchy of ordinary domestic life.
